This is a short video of Loch Lyon, the massive hydro storage resevoir at the top of the Glen Lyon. This very impressive loch, over 5 times it's natural size, is the centre-piece of the extensive Breadalbane hydro-electric scheme. As well as the upper part of Glen Lyon itself, water is channelled in to the resevoir from Glen Lochay, Glen Dochart and the Orchy.
A large scale catchment management initiative covering over 1000 miles of rivers and watercourses in the western catchments of the Tay river system, centred on Glen Lochay, Glen Lyon and the Dochart/ Fillan/ Cononish system. Managed by Scottish Native Woods in Aberfeldy, Highland Perthshire.
