This burn is called the Allt Fionn a' Ghlinne, which is right up at the top of Loch Lyon, in very wild and remote country. There will be fresh water fish using this watercourse, but being above the dam, it will be of no relevance to salmon. Prior to the 1950's of course, that would have been different. There is a very high density of watercourses leading in to Loch Lyon, in many cases they are only 50-100 metres apart. This simply emphasizes how wet the area is. Our survey is not extending to watercourses above the dam, as it was felt the return of useful information would not justify the expense up here.
