It should take us another 2 weeks or so to finish our survey work in Glenlyon, and then, after a day on the Lochay, it will be on to the Dochart, and I will be contacting owners over the next few weeks to organize access and explain exactly what we will be doing. The National Park will be supporting our efforts there, in addition to our many private funders, and we will be providing oportunities for volunteer involvement with the survey work as well. There will be approx 300 miles of tributaries on the Dochart system to complete.
This is a photo from our kayak survey down the Fillan & Dochart in February this year. You will notice that the weather was a lot better then than it is now, with Biscuit and Nelly completing the main stem of the river without even a hint of rain, and needing no more than their T-shirts for the journey. If only.........
