Video- The Allt Coire Ardrain

This is the upper section of the Allt Coire Ardrain, which enters the Fillan at the Benmore Hotel just east of Crianlarich. This watercourse is dominated by forestry for most of it's length, and managed by Forestry Commission Scotland, Lorne Forest District. I was looking at some of their felling and re-stocking today, and you can tell that over a period of 10 years or so that this watercourse is going to get more opened up and a better riparian habitat will be given the chance to form. Most of this watercourse is however beyond where fish could access. The corrie above this point did'nt hold much of interest to us. It is however, the most southerly point in the three glens that we are looking at, so that is another little milestone passed. The most northerly point was near the Keltneyburn- Rannoch road, at the top of the watershed. Seems a long, long way from here..........
