The watercourse is in the foreground here, this side of the trees. While the trees on the other side of the burn should be removed, they will probably be left until the restocked areas grow up a bit, and these ones will then be removed at that point. Otherwise the whole hill would appear to be de-forested at the same time. These trees will absorb run-off etc to some extent as well.
