This weir is situated where the Errochty Water meets the Garry. It prevents salmon from reaching the upper river. Above this point, the river is heavily abstracted, and salmon venturing up there are likely to become stranded. This weir is therefore diverting them in to another watercourse in which they are at least able to spawn. Very ocasionally, a salmon will be able to get up over this weir.
