Invasive Species
If anyone thinks that invasive species are no big deal, they should have a look at some of these pictures from the Ruthven Water, which flows in to the Earn below Auchterarder. Here, two species are clearly out of control, and two other species are also present as well. These species are still at fairly low levels in our TWCP area and can still be controlled. This is what we will get if we leave them uncontrolled, probably a situation which we can never catch up with. In this situation, the two main species are spreading in to every minor ditch and roadside verge, well away from the watercourses. This has very significant repecussions for biodiversity and erosion of banks......
