New Born Red Deer Calf
It is now a couple of weeks past the peak of the red deer calving season, and there are a lot of little calves on the ground.
This one is only a few hours old. These two photographs where taken by zoom lens from a concealed position, and neither the calf nor it's mother where aware of the presence of the photographer. It is very important to stay out of the way in these situations. Our survey work has inevitably been putting us in places where we would find such calves, and surveyors have been sensitive to this throughout.
