There is a lot of very large, valuable larch timber in this wood, but extraction difficulties would be massive. Glenlyon itself is a very poor place from which to extract timber, especially with the narrow entrance to the glen. I plan to ask a few more questions about the practical difficulties of managing plantations in Glenlyon and will try to highlight any constraints and any possible mitigations in our final report.
