Thousands of salmon fry

OK, so you cant see them, but here is the story. This watercourse is not much more than a ditch, but there was THOUSANDS of fry in here today. It is just a short distance to the Lyon, and on seeing my shadow, they ALL went in that direction, with NO exceptions. There was a freshet coming down the main river today, and the water in the main river is much colder than it should be, coming from the bottom of the dam. This little tributary is probably a good place to be, and underlines that all these small tributaries do have an important function, fulfilling the needs of fish at different times.......
