Here are a series of photos illustrating the breadth of native tree species we are finding on our survey work.
In this picture, some Scots Pine seedlings are seen hiding away in a sea of birch regeneration. The birch leaves, being more palatable, will attract grazing animals and keep their attention away from the Scots Pine (except in the winter time off course!)
