My geology map says that the rocks in this area are " drifts derived from slates, phylites and other weakly metamorphosed argillaceous sources....."
So, now you know!! This is actually the only area in Glen Lyon with rocks of this type, the only area in TWCP area being at the bottom NE corner of Glen Lochay. I think I am right in saying that this means the rocks are more base-rich than the acidic schists found over much of the rest of these three glens.
