There is a long series of erosion scars down this watercourse, a combination of unstable substrate, high rainfall, a big catchment area at high level, and little suitable vegetation for binding the banks together. The fact that the sides are so steep of course simply illustrates that this watercourse has been eroding downwards for thousands of years, and this erosion is probably nothing new here, and possibly not even an issue at all......
