Close-up of Mink Raft

This raft is in monitoring mode, with no trap inserted. Animals run through the tunnel and leave their footprints in a pad of wet clay. If mink are detected, they can then be trapped and humanely destroyed. You can see that there has been a lot of activity on this raft. Mink, rats, water voles, stoats & otters will all use the raft as they will be curious what it is. You have to be careful not to trap these other species. If otters are about, the entrance to the tunnel is reduced so that mink can enter, but they cannot.
