A new Tay District Salmon Fisheries Board.......

TDSFB had their election on 1st December with the co-option process complete on 5th January. There are now a number of new faces on the board, from all parts of the district, and there is very much a feeling of optimism and determination for taking things forwards, building on a number of initiatives that TDSFB forwarded in 2008. Between the established members that are coming back and the new ones, there appears to be a very strong team there now.

For our part, two off our TWCP committee members are now sitting on TDSFB; Alex Stewart from Killin/ Breadalbane Angling Club & TLC, and Alastair Riddell from Glenlyon. Iain Wotherspoon from Glenlyon is also now a TDSFB member as well, and a number of other members have been very supportive of our project from the outset. And although he is away to the Middle East, Jock Monteith will still be maintaining a connection with the Tay, and is in a position to raise significant private funds for Tay-wide projects in due course. So, this project is now well represented, and we will all work for the good of the Tay as a whole, not just the particular issues in this area.

Roll on 2009......!!
