This major ditch is sitting full of water. It was impossible to cross this to get to the main river.

Coirechaorach (Rob Roy's House)
Another bit of local history today that I did not know about. This gable end is all that now remains of "Rob Roy's House"
The watercourse I was looking at today was called the Allt Coire Chaorach. As on the Lyon, the Highland cows proved to be very photogenic. As on the Lyon, I got chased again by one.
Lovely autumn day today. Yes, even in Glen Dochart, where it has been raining almost non-stop for the past 6 weeks.........!!

This is quite a nice burn, nice fish habitat, not too prone to flooding, mixture of open water and dappled shade. This watercourse flows up the east side of Benmore, with some of it's tributaries going right up to the top of the mountain. I managed to twist my knee a bit today, and did not fancy the journey to the top. Benmore is a SSSI site and well surveyed and studied anyway, so we will just forget about these higher tribs for now. I concentrated on the lower-down stuff today.
